Experimenting with paint

Stemming from a project at morrama these images were the result of a day playing with, and photographing, acrylic paint. Wanting to achieve a fluid but bold result, bright colours were drawn across a plate of white acrylic. The images were then taken when the paint was still wet to capture the intensity. The reflections and shadows bring the image to life; something that could never be acheived to the same extent if the images had been digitally created.

As a designer I spend most of my time with my laptop fixed to my fingertips. It is all too easy to get lazy and believe you can work in the digital world 24/7. But I find my best work is physical; sketching, painting, modelling in 3D…
